Generational Hands was born from witnessing two sides of the same reality: families carrying more than they should have to carry alone.

For one of our founders, that lesson started with his mother, who has spent more than 30 years in home care. He grew up watching her become part of the families she served. When she cared for children, she became a second mother. She built real relationships, brought joy into difficult days, and showed him that great care is not just about what you do. It is about how you make people feel.

Our other founder saw the same truth from a different vantage point. After several years working in operations inside Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s NICU, he watched hundreds of families navigate some of the most frightening days a parent can face. He saw the difference that the right support made when families went home, and how much harder it was when that support wasn’t there.

Two different vantage points. The same conclusion: caregiving is a weight no family should have to carry alone. The right support can make a hard day lighter, help an aging parent remain at home with dignity, and give families the space to simply be family.

Generational Hands exists to be that support. Our name reflects what we’re building: professionals across generations coming together to care for children, parents, and grandparents alike. Because no family should have to carry the responsibility of care alone.
